We rescued Dakota from the SPCA but it really feels like he rescued us. :) He battled a series of illnesses at the SPCA before being cleared to come home. I like to think he fought because he knew he was needed. We needed him. We fell in love when this beautiful baby (all 33 lbs of him) when, without invitation, he flopped himself down in my partner's lap.

He brought us joy and laughter. So much so that he became the subject of many of my meme creations. Whenever I lacked inspiration I could always look to his unique personality traits for comedic relief. He was by our side through some rough years. He was more than a friend. He was family.
